Plagiarism

"Imititation is the highest form of praise."
This was my 'professional' writer friend's attempt at consoling
me when I reacted to someone appropriating some of my web
efforts effortlessly on this digital bilge stream.
It wasn't the collection of the data that annoyed me nor the
identical organisation of the data - it was the lack of recognition for
the legwork. It's a uni student thing.
As the title suggests, I am a uni graduate. Plagiarism was one of the
few official messages that sifted through the alcoholic haze of undergraduate
existence. The recognition of other peoples' works was a paramount
requirement of any aspiring academic aspirant.
You may have thought, independently, that the earth goes 'round the sun -
not the other way 'round - but it would be truely amiss of you to not
have trotted off to the library and confirmed one's thinking with the
mighty tomes. "Galileo ... I thought that was a sickly spirit you
had with soda..."
end of rant.
