Just say no

The constant grind of other people and their demands is a little overwhelming at times. Perhaps I am just naive, but living doesn't really have to be as complicated as many people suggest it is.

Rather, my sense is that living is a relatively straight forward affair, with other people spending their whole day trying to trip everyone else up.

We all seem happy to assume that people in power are into screwing the common man - but to suggest that we all do it seems to be a bit too over the top for the common man.

Manipulations and contortions in social relations to bend the will of the other is common place. No, I don't want that; Yes, I will have that; I really have to go; No; No; No!!

Try to define a set of activities for yourself. Include those things that are necessary to your survival. Include those commitments already made to other people. Then say no to everything else.

You will quickly learn that you are boring, unthinking, wierd, a hard case, a stick in the mud, dangerous or whatever. It depends on your social milleau.

Compromise your existence for others if you want an easy path to your grave.
