Is it that difficult to run a newspaper now, that we rely solely on the rehack of news wire services about presidential penises, and the mayhem around the world?

An unbalanced diet such as this is guaranteed to affect our brains. Foreign news is a essential thing (especially if done well). But we have no fibre in our diet...it's all fat and sugar (read horror and feel good stories).

What the hell is actually happening in my town??

Local news is reduced to one sensational story per day, an half-hearted attempt at summarising the police radio buzz and a couple of press releases from self serving politicians or business houses.

I am not alone. Many people I speak to derive pleasure only from the sports section and the letters section. These two arenas guarantee some sense of the local.

I demand we all refuse to purchase newspapers!! It's easy to do, 'cause there aint no such thing no more.
