A world of dreams!

My urban cool was unbroken as I locked the car. I took a slow breath or two. The entrance to Dreamworld and the start to my day of unparalleled excitement were now both within reach.

A theme park will of course have many exciting rides to entertain the visitor. Can you imagine the sense of wonder I experienced when approaching the Log Ride, which promised "unexpected movements", "unusual and stressful physical forces" as well as the risk of "unanticipated thrills"?

My personal favourite was a ride that required an extended wait in a very long queue to provide a 20 second ride that provides a forward acceleration to 160 km/hr, a rapid climb to a height of 38 stories and the necessary descent and return in reverse direction. Unfortunately, the big roller coaster thingy was not in operation that day.

But there's more...

You can also engage the brain as well as the body with a plethora of games of chance, including one I have tried in Sydney's Capitol Centre. I have spent more than the value of a few minor prizes in my vain attempts to win a major prize...

Though for all these enjoyable distractions, it is the thematic dimension that makes a place like Dreamworld something more than a fun park. And Dreamworld has the theme of themes, Big Brother! I must admit that I have never watched it on the television, but I have heard so much about it that I feel like a loyal viewer and I had to take advantage to look behind the scenes of a program I have never seen.

It is the approach to The House, which most fascinated me.

The following is a personal favourite....

Once you are inside there are all these rooms and furniture you can look at, but cannot touch...

Finally, one comes to the end where postcards of your famous housemates can be purchased...

I haven't even touched upon the endless fun to be had at Wiggles world, the tiger park or riding upon the Dreamworld steam train. I leave it for you to discover these wonders when you finally decide to book the plane ticket and check it out for yourself one day.

Finally, you can rest assured of the amenity of Dreamworld, with its wide range of indulgence foods, drinks and sweets and a non-smoking policy that caters to smokers by providing many conveniently positioned, covered areas for nicotine addicts to indulge the habit.
