10 years of blogging

by Sylvano Lucchetti - 2009-01-11 00:00:00

Sure it's been one and a half years since my last entry - and yes - there was a four year gap after November 2001, but that doesn't mean I have been doing stuff elsewhere - both online and offline.

Offline reality is busy with family, friends and work, whereas online reality has become more of a leisure outlet for me lately. I have put a couple of blog posts up at various sites, like at chess.com, including 7 tips to spot a cheater, but visiting that web site is mostly about playing chess...

I have also found myself writing Haikus on Facebook. I am using a 7-5-7 syllable form, though English Haikus are more typically structured as 5-7-5 or 3-6-3; After all, there is no strict rule, per sé and my form will eventually become known as the Sylvano Structure anyway.

But to celebrate 10 years of slack blogging effort and to breathe a little life back into this web site, I will pump a few words into my text editor and post some new entries! In fact, I may even commence a serious session of thinking about potential site redesign options. I would be more than happy to hear your ideas. Just email me at sylvano at this domain.

Did You Know?

Blocking Instrusive Popup Ads

Most web browsers now have a button that allows you to "Block Popup Ads" and, as you expect, most creepy websites have found ways around these buttons. The good news is that, if you are using Firefox, you can install a Javascript popup blocker like NoScript which will nip those sites in the bud. It is completely free, and works.
